Accountant I Job Opening in Louisville, Kentucky - LDG Development, an industry leader in the development and construction of multi-family housing, has a great opportunity in Louisville for someone highly motivated and dedicated to learning and growing their knowledge and experience in the financial and accounting disciplines involved with multi-family development and construction, including cost accounting, construction draws, tax credits, pre-development, closings and reporting. The person selected for this position will have the opportunity to participate in various stages of pre-development through construction on multi-family projects which qualify for low-income housing tax credits under the federal Internal Revenue Code. This position has strong potential for growth, and pay and benefits are competitive.
This position will be exposed to and have a variety of responsibilities and learning opportunities, including:
Tracking the pipeline and pre-development costs through closing
Analyzing the construction accounting done by a third party to ensure compliance with all programs in the Tax Credit business
Participation in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements
Assisting with Accounts Payable by entering and allocating to projects in the accounting system
Developing spreadsheet reports
Preparing general ledger entries
Researching and interpreting data to respond to accounting and financial questions
Special projects and assignments as needed
Qualified applicants should have:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or related discipline
One or more years of related work, or internship experience while earning degree
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting software; experience with Quick Books a plus
Strong attention to detail
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Strong communication skills ? verbal, written and listening
Ability to occasionally work non-traditional hours, if needed
