The Position:
We are looking for a full-time Claims Supervisor whose primary duties are listed below:
Responsibilities:
Supervises activities within the Claims Department. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of employees.
Supervises employees and provides guidance on claims, policies, audits, etc.
Reviews and determines coverage and / or liability.
Works toward the resolution of claims files, and attends arbitrations, mediations, dispositions or trials as necessary.
Ensures that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
Coordinates the work activities within the Claims Department.
Responsible for performance, development and coaching of staff (i.e., hiring, firing, performance management, salary increases, etc.).
Works with other business units to ensure organizational goals are met.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to handle customer interactions in a calm, professional, friendly and patient manner.
Ability to work independently and utilize professional judgement to make accurate determinations.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes either within the department or during the daily work assignments.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team environment and display a positive attitude in an effort to meet department goals.
Ability to work within a Windows Operating system and Microsoft Office Products.
Pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent experience
Background in Healthcare Administration or Health claims, with
3 to 5 years of related leadership experience
Location:
This position is located in Austin, Texas, conveniently off of 183 and Lakeline Boulevard. Only candidates living within commuting distance or willing to relocate will be considered.
