HR Business Partner Job Opening in Plainfield, Illinois - Indeed Hire is in partnership with Bethesda Lutheran Communities in Plainfield, IL in order to assist them to fill their full-time role of an HR Business Partner (Generalist).
Job Summary:
This HR Business Partner acts as an HR liaison to help implement HR strategic plans and objectives and serves as front line HR support in the state/region assigned. Responsible for serving as a consultant to management and employees on human resource related issues including Federal, state and local employment laws.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to management and staff regarding employee relations issues, performance management, policies and procedures and interpretation of employment laws, while maintaining a positive employee-employer relationship and promoting a high level of employee commitment.
Assists with planning and implementation of HR strategic plans and objectives in the state/region assigned.
Heavy employee relation; provide training and support for managers in areas they need to function (how to do performance management, how to coach, etc.)
Assists the Employee Relations Specialist in conducting investigations and making recommendations regarding issues of staff disputes or misconduct, when necessary.
Manages minor unemployment claims, appropriate accommodation, return to work and worker's compensation programs at a state/regional level with the guidance of the employment relations specialist
Coordinates regional/state training initiatives as they relate to HR; conducts training of Human Resources-related subject matter to ensure completion of all required organization training.
Responsible for administering and monitoring termination paperwork, exit interview/employee survey process and leave administration.
Creates and maintains necessary reporting required for each state or region.
Review and revise, as necessary, all of the region?s/state?s specific HR documents and processes and initiates/comply with the required annual checks for all employees.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in human resources management, business administration, psychology or related field.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive human resources experience with a strong background in employment and selection, training, organizational development, compensation, employee relations and employment law.
Heavy employee relation, having someone who has dealt with heavy conflict
Professional certification in human resources through SHRM or HRCI preferred.
Current, valid driver's license and good driving record as defined by Bethesda, required.
Physical Demands:
Up to 25% overnight travel may be required.
Ability to sit or stand for up to 6 hours/day. Some lifting, bending, and carrying.

In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to management of employees and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Experience working with multi-state employers preferred.
Manage multiple projects per established priorities.
