Manager, Continuous Improvement Job Opening in Itasca, Illinois - BACKGROUND:
PECO Pallet, Inc. is an industry leader in providing four-way block pallet pooling services in North America. With a diverse portfolio of manufacturers and distributors, PECO currently services most US retailers, wholesalers, national clubs and food services. The PECO business model is to issue (ship), collect, repair, and reissue pallets from a robust service network with locations throughout North America.
JOB SUMMARY:
The mission of this role is to support a best in class continuous improvement (LEAN) program focused on achieving PECO?s strategic initiatives by implementing a process based culture of continuous improvement through standard work, team problem solving and ongoing training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manage LEAN foundations training program for all PECO Employees.
Training and deployment of ?LEAN Tools? to be accomplished according to pre-set targets for new and current employees
Manage continuous improvement curriculum; to include for example, links to presentations, videos, books, etc.
Maintain Alignment: Ensure 100% of key initiatives align with strategic objectives and correlate with 2017 SMART targets.
Participate in all key Cross Functional Kickoff meetings
Manage key deliverables within Continuous Improvement Roadmap (CIR) for all strategic house initiatives
Conduct/Teach 3-5 Kaizen events to advance key strategic house initiatives
Prepare a monthly/quarterly A3 report out cadence for key projects
Standard work is applied to 100% of value chain processes, and critical supporting processes.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor?s Degree in industrial engineering or field closely related to operational improvement/process improvement/project management or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training required.
SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to assist with implementation of operational improvement training programs * Demonstrated record of kaizen team leadership, including charter development, team facilitation, and implementation
Demonstrated experience with Continuous Quality Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
Familiarity with Quality Analysis tools/techniques such as Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, Pareto Chart, Run Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Regression Analysis, (SIPOC) Diagrams.
Project Management skills including Gantt chart use, resource loading, and stage gate priority management
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of LEAN/ continuous improvement experience including organization-wide operational improvement programs in the healthcare industry or closely related field, including extensive experience with process improvement.
Experience providing education and training in the use of process improvement tools and techniques through team exercises.
Experience working with cross functional teams at all organization levels.
