The Palmettos Garden City, the new premier Assisted Living of the Grand Strand, is seeking a Memory Care Program Director.
The Memory Care Program Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing the programs and services of the memory care program. The goals of the Palmetto Village memory care program are to fulfill the basic psychological, intellectual, physical, social and emotional and spiritual needs while promoting quality of life in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to; Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff of Palmetto Village; Responsible for staffing and scheduling in compliance with state regulations; Complete staff evaluations and perform competencies; Perform pre-move in assessments in collaboration with Sales and Marketing Director; Initiate, update every six months, and revise care plans as needed; Coordinate and participate in care plan meetings; Function as a liaison between residents, families, and physician; Complete, investigate, and follow up on resident accident/incident reports. Report incidents as appropriate to the Executive Director; Develops and implements an innovate seven day a week activity program; Responsible for leading and implementing one-on-one, small groups and large group activities; Supports and encourages resident individual activity preference, and knowledge about residents in regard to physical abilities, interests, cognitive ability and attention span capability; Monitor medication administration compliance including physician orders, MAR's, pharmacy drug reviews, pharmacy compliance, and charting documentation; Participate in continuous quality improvement programs; Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrates a positive attitude, and works well under pressure.
Nursing experience preferred. Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional who is licensed ? or ? two years experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years (one of which was full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting); Must be able to read, write and speak the English language; A self motivated, creative and positive personality; Ability to work with partners, residents, family members and the community; Possess patience, good organization skills, assertiveness and be a conscientious person; Present a professional appearance; Be flexible in working hours so that weekend or evening events may be provided; Ability to supervisor others in a firm, fair, and consistent manner.
