Sr. Embedded Engineer - Team Lead Job Opening in Overland Park, Kansas - Equity Staffing Group has an excellent opportunity with one of our clients in the Overland Park area as a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer. This position is a direct hire role that will be working with the design and implementation of software and embedded firmware for navigational products. In this role, this person will be in responsible for the hands on development work, along with handling the mentoring of a team of mid-level to junior level Engineers. This position's salary goes up to $100k, but is flexible depending on experience.
Sr. Embedded Software Engineer
The Embedded Software Engineer designs and implements software and embedded firmware to develop and maintain navigational and surveillance products. This engineer will participate in all aspects of a product's lifecycle including requirements development, project planning and scheduling, design, implementation, integration, testing and maintenance. Development will be conducted in accordance with internal processes, DO-278, and customer driven processes. The Embedded Software Engineer will work both in a development leadership role and as a software/firmware developer.
Requirements:
5 or more years of Embedded Software Engineer experience with design, documentation and testing.
Candidate must be conversant in development lifecycle and capable of handling complex problems with minimal supervision.
Required to design and document software through the preparation of software development plans, software specifications, software code, and test procedures.
Required to understand and interact with digital, analog, and RF circuits including working knowledge of electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
Experience required generating software and system test procedures and tests.
Ability to support manufacturing organization through development and improvement of products, improved test methods, test procedures, consultation and fault isolation.
Education:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science ? preferred
Applicant should be experienced with real-time design
Applicant should be experienced with Linux, scripting, and automated testing
Experience with FPGA, Navigational Aids, ADS-B, Transponders, TCAS, SSR, or IFF experience beneficial but not required.
