Staff Physician - Urgent Care Job Opening in Alpharetta, Georgia - Staff Physician

Provides urgent care and occupational health care to patients ? independently and in collaboration with other medical professionals ? following standards and protocols set by the practice. Functions as a member of clinical team in maintaining patient flow and maximizing the delivery of quality care to patients. . Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions.

Primary Responsibilities:
Comfortable with operating independently in a busy clinic setting.

Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.

Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.

Select, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.

Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.

Write orders on EMR for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing protocols.

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.

Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc. in collaboration with supervising physician.

Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.

Perform physicals?including sports, DOT (cert required prior to or soon after hiring), non-DOT, pre-employment and annuals

Evaluate patients for workers? compensation injuries, coordinating with employer/clients to balance the needs of the patient and requirements of the employer

Key Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school

Certified as a NP or PA with current state licensure.

Skilled in traditional nursing disciplines of patient assessment and management.

4+ years experience as a practicing NP or PA in an urgent care, family practice or ER setting.

Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens and others.

Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email and Microsoft Office as well as comfortable with EMR applications.

Understanding and experience with occupational health practices, including CME qualification, drug testing protocols, employment physicals, and OSHA guidelines

ALCS/PALS certification.
