Sales Manager Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - The Sales Manager is responsible for managing temporary events and other retail and wholesale activity. The position is primarily based in Chicago, but will require travel throughout the Mid-West and may include travel to Florida and Arizona during the winter months. The Sales Manager will manage two to four temporary employees depending on the complexity and scope of the event. In addition, the Sales Manager may represent the company at wholesale events and by directly contacting home decor boutiques and gift shops in high tourist traffic destinations. The position is will primarily work on weekends. The Sales Manager will travel 25% to 50% depending on the season.
Requirements:
5+ years working face-to-face with customers in a boutique retail environment, at temporary events in a retail setting, or as a brand ambassador.
Experience working at art shows, craft shows, or gift shows is ideal, but not required.
Experience managing a team of 3 to 5 people in a fast-paced environment
Professional demeanor and presence
Good driving record
Desire to exceed sales goals and be rewarded for performance
Ability to travel 25% to 50%
Compensation includes a base plus commission.
