Senior Accountant Job Opening in Austin, Texas - The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining the General Ledger, financial reporting and account reconciliations of most balance sheet accounts and supporting other functions within the accounting department, as necessary. The Senior Accountant will have exposure to most areas of the company in the month-end close process. Responsibilities:
Active involvement in establishing and maintaining an efficient and accurate month-end close process
Preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations
Preparation of fluctuation analyses and performance of financial statements analytics, providing relevant explanations for fluctuations provided to senior management
Collaboration with FP&A to understand and explain budget vs. actual variances
Implementation and documentation of internal controls and procedures
Participation in process streamlining and improvement projects
Research technical accounting issues and prepare necessary memos
Assist with review including, but not limited to, journal entries, bank recs, and account recons
Participate in financial statement audits and reviews, including preparation of audit schedules
Support external reporting needs, as necessary
Liaise with our external auditors for both quarterly and annual periods
Other projects/ tasks, as necessary.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2+ years Big 4 public accounting experience
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth company preferred
Ability to research and resolve technical accounting issues and draft accounting memorandums
Advanced knowledge of US GAAP a must
Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organization skills
Energetic, driven and dedicated
Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
