The Clinical Documentation Manager leads a team of CDI Specialists that review medical records on a concurrent and retrospective basis to improve overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation of patient records. Work collaboratively with clinicians to ensure that clinical information in the medical record is present and accurate and provides training and education as needed. Works with the coding staff to provide guidance to ensure that appropriate clinical severity is captured for the level of service rendered to all patients.
Qualifications: HS Graduate with credential: CDIP or CCDS or combination thereof. A minimum of 3 years? experience in coding, preferably in an academic setting. Demonstrates exceptional coding skills with extensive experience in ICD-10.
License, Registration or Certification Required: Current state license as coding specialist, registered health information administrator, and/or registered health information technologist.
