Accounting Manager Job Opening in Cleveland, Ohio - RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage accounting staff and oversee daily application of property/entity transactional accounting principles, policies, and processes
Review/approve journal entries, audit work papers and financial statements
Review accounting staff work to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions
Oversee complex tasks from accounting analysts
Oversee tax preparation and year-end audits at property entity levels
Support periodic (monthly, quarterly, annually) closing processes as related to respective property portfolios, as required
Review and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
Provide resources to test internal controls under Section 404
Review and approve month-end, quarter-end financial packages and transactions for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Responsible for the analysis of operations and development accounting, including items such as proper treatment of transfers, capitalized interest and other GAAP/tax differences
Prepare and analyze supporting materials for regulatory and external financial reporting
Prepare, analyze, and communicate key financial and operational reports to be distributed to internal customers
Provide coaching and mentoring to Accounting Analysts
Conduct performance evaluations and manage direct reports? performance development process
REQUIREMENTS
Masters in Business Administration or related field preferred.
Bachelor degree in Accounting or related filed required.
7 years ? experience in real estate, public accounting or financial reporting.
Works well as a member of a group
Detail oriented
Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
Self-Starter; Inspired to perform without outside help
