Retail Associate Job Opening in Helena, Montana - A Federal Government Agency needs a Part-time Retail Sales Associate, in Fort Harrison, MT. Working with and for the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) in the Veterans Healthcare System, providing quality service to our nation's veterans
The incumbent of this position works under the general supervision of the Canteen Chief or his/her designee. Incumbent actively assists customers in the selection of merchandise in a sale area where specialized merchandise knowledge is not required.
Sells merchandise directly to customers, requiring the operation of a cash register, and the maintenance of a change fund. Performs other related duties such as merchandise control, merchandise replenishment, display, housekeeping, and record keeping.
The work requires constant standing, walking, frequent bending, heavy lifting or moving objects up to 40 pounds, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, working around wet floors, etc. Most canteens are located in the hospital environment.
