Summary/objective ? Act as a Patient Advocate by being a liaison between insurance carriers and patients as well as to facilities to service contracted needs. Must hold HIPAA to the highest standards. Independent and ethical judgement is required in order to exercise all job functions and responsibilities. Position should be conducted with high levels of discretion, confidentiality, and ethical behavior.
Essential functions ?
Notes all accounts worked and forwards appropriate information to others who will need to act on the information that was documented.
Assist in tracking ?take backs? and work with office manager to resolve issues.
Read EOBs and post instructions to further claim within departments
Download faxes, note accounts and forward to appropriate departments
Work with Client Advocate Team Lead on team assignments
Resolve claim issues by properly researching account issues.
Perform Verification of Benefits.
Explain mental health benefits to new patients and families.
Work with staff and other departments to promote efficiency within your department and entire company.
Respond to high volume of calls and emails related to inquiries and requests.
Follow up with complicated claims issues.
Competency ? Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the medical billing and mental health position is a fast paced position that requires the ability to work under pressure while still maintaining the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Must have proficiency in attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. Must be able to work independently, and meet timeliness deadlines.
Supervisory responsibilities ? Does not supervise anyone.
Work environment ? Employee Required to work in the Lakeside Billing Management Office located at 330 E 400 S, Suite 1, Springville, UT 84663.
Physical demands ? Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, while working at a computer station. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Minimum physical exertion. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines.
Travel ? no travel expected
Required education and experience ?minimum of high school diploma with 12 months work experience within the healthcare front office or billing office field.
Preferred education and experience ? 2+ years? experience or candidates with specialized certificate training are preferred. Mental Health field experience preferred.
Additional eligibility qualifications ? Must be computer literate and have intermediate to advanced skills within Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of ACT and MED EZ helpful, but not required.

Salary Range ? $10.00 - $14.00 Per hour based on experience and qualifications. Reviews will be performed at intervals of 30 days, 90 days and annually thereafter. All incremental raises will be based on merit and educational improvement alone as they apply to the beneficial nature of such merit and improvement to Lakeside Billing Management?s team, function, and market value.
