Position: Systems Developer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Vice President of IT
We are looking for a passionate Systems Developer to design, develop and install software solutions. This position requires experience developing e-commerce applications. The successful candidate will be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.
Responsibilities
Write well designed, testable, efficient code using the latest SDLC methodologies.
Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
Oversee production and implementation
Create and maintain documentation
Serve as a subject matter expert
Recommend and implement performance improvements
Communicate with system personnel or web site hosting agencies to address hardware or software issues affecting web sites.
Take on the lead technical role in assigned areas, acquiring expertise in the relevant applications, technologies and business use of IT.
Cross-train other associates in new and changed applications, and in relevant areas where you have expertise. Find opportunities to cross-train in other associates' areas of responsibility and expertise. Provide backup and secondary support of other applications as needed.
Investigate the business processes in areas you work with, to identify improvements, and potential new IT tools or applications. Identify opportunities for AAP to better serve its members, and for the IT department to better serve its customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience
Required:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development
Extensive knowledge in all phases of software projects including analysis, design, development, testing and successful implementation of software application systems
Advance experience in , Framework, C#, Visual Studio, Visual SourceSafe, IIS, HTML, SQL Server, Reporting Services, SSIS and Access
Experience with Ajax, jQuery, and Javascript
Experience with Entity Framework and LINQ
UX design knowledge
Proven experience of developing an e-commerce platform
Experience working with small teams, with individual project responsibility
Ability to think abstractly
Detail-oriented organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines
B.S in computer science or related field
