Accounting Associate Job Opening in Kansas City, Missouri - Job Description ? Accounting Associate
LMG is a rapidly growing small business construction and consultancy company located in downtown Kansas City, MO, seeking a full time candidate to perform professional multi-faceted accounting and administrative duties.
Must be able to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks with daily deadlines and under pressure. Must be able to take direction from more than one supervisor. Requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills with all people. A friendly and outgoing personality is awesome! Love of dogs is also welcome! As is often the case with a small business, the position is multi-faceted and will never be boring! Responsibilities include:
Accounting & Data Entry
Payroll - enter and post labor to job cost entries
Accounts Payable - enter and post all invoices, verify and compare purchase orders amounts, follow up with construction managers for discrepancies.
Maintain and monitor current certificates of insurance
Maintain accounting records, organizes files, and scans documents
Open/sort mail daily
Other tasks assigned by the Asst. Controller or Controller
Administrative HR Duties
Prepare and process new hire packets.
Verify all drug test results and notify PM/Field Operations
Maintain employee data bases
Enter all new hires through E-Verify
Must be discreet with confidential matters.
Track PTO data base
Order staff apparel
Software
Must be proficient in PC software application such as, Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, strong typing, spelling and proofreading skills.
ADP, payroll system
Experience with Pro-Contractor accounting software, a plus but not necessary.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of two year Associates Degree in Accounting and/or at least five years in an accounting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in the construction and/or plumbing industry a plus.
