We have an opening for a Contract to Hire Software Developer, Junior to work at our client?s corporate headquarters in Columbia, TN!
Our client is the leading TN Statewide provider for Insurance including personal, commercial, auto, umbrella, etc. This IT Department has expanded so much, they are currently remodeling the entire building to not only make room for the growth of employees, but also to obtain a more modern and innovated feel, especially for their 54 member development team. Essential Functions:
Junior Developer is responsible for the design, construction, integration, and implementation of applications software in an exciting, innovative, dynamic environment that supports corporate strategies and objectives. This is considered a junior development position that requires cultural fit, technical skills, and expertise commensurate with a high quality, innovative team focused on building stellar experiences for our users. This role will be responsible for the following items in addition to other duties as assigned:
Perform programming assignments using established programming standards, methods, and best practices.
Design, Build, Maintain and Modify service, web, and mobile applications.
Provide input and direction to solutions fulfilling product ownership and client requirements.
Identify and implement technical and procedural solutions in alignment with operating objectives.
Provide support for critical application problems and issues.
Participate in the experience design process.
Requirements
Familiarity with Java
Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming Concepts
Familiarity with Frontend Development tools and techniques
Competency within Java environment
Competency in modern Web Development
Exposure to multiple Relational Databases
Passion for owning Enterprise Java applications both internal and external!
Experience with Web Development
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of professional development experience
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Proven initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly
Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Maintains a broad knowledge of emergent trends in software development platforms, tools, methodologies and their underlying principles
