Assistant Controller Job Opening in New York, New york - Assistant Controller
compensation: Based on experience and industry standards
Well established and growing leader in specialty food retail industry is seeking a dynamic yet hands on Assistant Controller to help run and expand the current NYC based finance/accounting department. Excellent supervisory & interpersonal skills along with negotiation, analytical and technical skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
- A/P, A/R including overseeing invoicing process and collections efforts
- Bank reconciliation
- File state taxes
- Create financial statements
- Create monthly and quarterly projections
- Deal with ad hoc insurance matters
- Prepare and analyze financial reports
- Report directly to the Controller
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in general ledger, A/P, bank reconciliations, daily cash receipts & statement preparation.
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency in AccPac a plus.
- Experience in retail food industry is highly preferable.
- Experience with external auditors
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related experience.
- Must be articulate, trust-worthy, reliable and work well with others
