Staff Accountant Job Opening in Manassas, Virginia - The Staff Accountant/ Financial Analyst will need to be an energetic, intelligent, fast learner who will conduct an array of tasks in the office to make sure the financials of this growing, dynamic technology company are running smoothly. Experience with full accounting matters, financial planning and analysis, research and compliance services are critical in this position. The high level of accountability will include the following responsibilities, and will be reported to the chief financial officer and president of the company:
Maintain the company?s system of accounts, and keep books and records on all transactions and assets
Responsible for general ledger entries, accounts payable and payments, account receivables, inventory and fixed assets, billing records and collection and bank reconciliation
Oversee and analyze expense reports and expense reimbursement
Prepare payrolls and oversee employee benefit plan, as well as ensure that the Human Resource policies are kept
Prepare reports that effectively outline financial position of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations
Prepare, analyze, and present results of various metrics-driven reports for the executive team
Assisting the billing manager to Identify and analyze trends and developments in sales, margins, customers as well as competitive environments focusing on analyzing and monitoring issues that affect profitability, growth and productivity
Ensure tax compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, sales, and other applicable taxes
Work with employees in other departments to assist in implementing cost saving measures and budgetary compliance
Desired Skills and Expertise
Candidates must possess a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related major, or equivalent business experience and knowledge of bookkeeping and US-GAAP
2 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, experience with sales tax a plus
Excellent computer skills with a strong emphasis on excel, knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks and of NAV ERP software a plus
Ongoing passion to continuing education and professional growth required
Career oriented, hardworking individual
Outstanding client interaction and presentation skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills are essential
Prior experience presenting analytical findings to management is a plus
Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, interactive, results-based, team environment
Team player with the ability to work independently
Detail oriented individual with the ability to consult on and contribute to projects from inception to conclusion
