Designs for Health is currently seeking a Regional Sales Director for the Eastern Region of the United States. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach to business development, the ability to inspire our sales organization to succeed and knowledge of best practices in sales techniques.
Position Overview
The Regional Sales Director will develop and implement strategic sales plans for the region; provide coaching, guidance and product/disease education to support sales representatives in meeting/exceeding sales targets; recruit, select, orient, train and develop sales representatives for the region; promote sales directly in those areas of the region not covered by an assigned sales representative; and project a positive image of DFH in the marketplace consistent with DFH?s marketing strategy and ethical business practices.
Essential Job Functions
Trains, develops, coaches, counsels, supports and motivates sales representatives in assigned regions/territories
Identifies hiring needs and assist with the recruitment, interviewing, training and on-boarding of new sales representatives
Develops, executes, effectively communicates and monitors a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the DFH customer base
Analyzes business trends and supports sales representatives in identifying, planning and executing tactical initiatives to drive sales growth for DFH products in local markets
Analyzes team performance qualitatively and quantitatively relative to KPI, identifies improvement areas to drive corrective actions and coaches to enhance performance
Ensures that the sales team effectively promotes the sale of DFH products and solutions to customers while motivating and educating customers to sell products to their patients
Conducts routine field visits with sales representatives to understand customer needs and market dynamics to share during business meetings and planning sessions
Prepares and reviews all relevant customer information, planned selling approach and past interactions for pre-joint call discussion with sales representatives
Meets with key customers to assist sales representatives with strong working relationships as well as negotiating and closing business agreements
Implements customer-centric selling discussions with key customers in coordination with the sales representatives
Monitors and evaluates the promotional activities and products of the competition
Collaborates effectively with business partners in planning, organizing and implementing marketing events and training that are consistent with DFH promotional strategies
Represents the Company at regional trade association events to promote DFH products
Addresses potential problems and timely solutions
Effectively manages regional sales budget
Requirements
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field of study
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Ability to build, coach, counsel, lead and motivate a high performance sales team
Excellent presentation, communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to influence and debate at senior levels in order to get the right result
Results-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and tenacious drive to succeed
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and account management skills
Team player with outstanding people leadership skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally () in support of business, customer and people needs
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products, solutions and services
Proven ability to appropriately position and sell products relative to the competition
Ability to travel extensively within the United States
Preferred
Sales management experience in a health and/or nutritional industry
People management experience
