Real Estate Financial Analyst Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - The Real Estate Financial Analyst will be an integral participant in the analysis, planning and forecasting of various projects, including such areas as real estate, debt and equity. This position will work independently as well as within a team environment and will explore viable options for the purpose of providing the organization a basis for its decisions as well as providing performance updates.
ESSENTIAL POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
·Bachelor?s degree in accounting/finance
·Real estate background
·4-6 years related experience
·Strong research and analysis skills
·Strong Excel and modeling skills
·Proficient in accounting software, specifically Yardi
·Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
·Self-starter with the ability to move projects forward
·Ability to succeed in a team environment and collaborate with others
·Customer service oriented

ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
·Complete financial research on unique financial models and projects
·Analyze real estate and related transactions including potential revenue, expenses, construction costs and future projections
·In collaboration with the Finance team, develop annual budgets, short and long term forecasts and plans for the organization and its component business units
·Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
·Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations
·Provide ad hoc financial analysis in all areas of real estate activity as required to identify improvements opportunities and make recommendations
·Effectively complete, analyze, interpret and communicate modeling exercises and reports to senior management and other specific audiences
·Act as administrator of the Yardi system in all aspects, including module enhancements, additions and training. Will work in conjunction with all end users.
