Contacts insurance companies to determine applicable healthcare benefits to coordinate financial responsibility for medical services.
Contacts patients regarding collections of and coordinates collection of these payments with front desk.
Generates and processes on demand patient responsibility statements
Assists patients with claim and benefit inquires and financial arrangements.
Conducts Authorizations and Pre Payment Medical Justifications
Conducts patient Pre Registration and Identifies and advises patients of financial responsibilities.
Analyzes patient accounts to determine financial responsibility and collection activity.
Prepare A/R Aging Reports and Analysis
Identifies and processes collection accounts
Coding experience required.
Full understanding of charge and payment processing and payer guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial counseling and insurance billing required.
Understanding of prospective payment systems, Medicare/Medicaid contractual agreements and other third party network rules, regulations and contractual guidelines. Working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding HIPAA and release of information.
Must be experienced in task skills listed above. Requires strong understanding of all major insurances, their websites and includes all Federal payers. Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism. Completes other office/clerical duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
