Job Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk works closely with all accounting personnel to ensure accounting functions are completed for ZT Systems clients and vendors. The Accounts Payable Clerk maintains all payment and other transaction records and is responsible for all payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operation of the Company.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Responsible for compiling amounts owed by the company to vendors, suppliers, or other
Gathers purchase orders, charge slips, sales tickets and prepares them with payments as they are received
Process check requests, garnishments and tax payments in a timely manner
Reconciles subsidiary vendors' ledger with accounts payable total and with the general ledger
Properly matches invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
Obtain all appropriate approvals to process checks, garnishments and tax payments
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, franchisees, and others in a courteous and professional manner
Prepares and maintains the Company's Fixed Asset log
Prepares and maintains Company's Contract log
Expense analysis report for abnormal activity within the department
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
MS office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of ERP accounting systems preferred
General knowledge of accounting and understanding of general ledger accounts within the accounts payable setting
Competencies
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Highly detailed planning and organization ability, multitask, set own priorities and adapt to a changing environment.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
Experience
3+years of experience in accounting/finance.
Familiar with a variety of the fieldā??s concepts, practices and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
