On-Site Billing & Administrative Coordinator Job Opening in Chardon, Ohio - For more than forty years the Martin Healthcare Group () has partnered to provide customized quality patient care across the healthcare continuum.
Position Overview / Summary
The On-Site Billing & Administrative Coordinator works independently at the hospital site while reporting to the Solon office - for this particular site the position can be located either at the hospital in Lorain, OH or at the main office in Solon, OH. This position is primarily responsible for charge entry/processing for the clinical providers at the site, as well as administrative tasks associated with the program.
Essential Functions (Including, but not limited to)
Create and send referring physician communication (Admission Notices)
Maintain patient encounter volume counts
Perform charge entry duties
Code charges and enter demographics when required
Update registrations on a daily basis before processing claims
Enter insurance authorizations
Manage all claims on hold
Triage telephone calls to the office for clinical providers
Assist clinical providers with administrative tasks, including death certificates, home health requests, medical record issues, incoming mail and faxes, etc.
Coordinate with Practice Manager for quarterly program meetings, including confirmation of room location, ordering and set up of food, and communication to doctors to ensure attendance as needed
Build rapport and maintain communication with hospital personnel as needed
As time allows, perform other medical billing or administrative tasks as required
Expectations

Function as an active team member by attending and contributing to staff meetings
Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding work completion status, questions or concerns, and other pertinent information
Demonstrate professional behavior and teamwork
Demonstrate professionalism and accountability by adhering to regular work schedule, attendance and punctuality
Assist in the training of team members when needed
Record days and hours worked on timesheet accurately
Maintain positive attitude and positive interactions with co-workers
Actively make suggestions for improvements when applicable
Maintain organized, detailed and retrievable records
Complete and send productivity reports as directed
Job Requirements
2-3 years of medical billing experience, preferably in an in-patient setting
Familiarity with CPT coding and medical terminology
Ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with MS Office software
