Controller Job Opening in Austin, Texas - *Controller*
The Controller is a management position with oversight, and in some cases, direct responsibility for: financial planning and analysis, budgeting, accounting and auditing, payroll, taxes and other related concerns. Working closely with the Executive Management to provide strong financial accountability, and performance metrics for each Portfolio Company.
He/she provides timely, accurate, and useful reports reflecting the Company's financial position and activities, maintains accurate and proper corporate records, manages accounting staff and assures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
BS in finance, accounting, or business administration required (CPA Required)
Minimum of 10 years experience in finance/accounting
Strong business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Ability to influence cross-functional team members
Key Responsibilities
Timely delivery of monthly financial reports, including detailed account analysis to drive strategic decisions
Prepare monthly forecast, budget-to-actuals and variance analysis updates
Manage all key monthly financial processes, while continuously developing methods of improvement
Manage and report cash position while working closely with Treasurer
Review and approve all ad hoc financial requests to ensure requests are appropriate, consistent with contractual scope of work, and current staffing levels are adequate to deliver on such requests
Tracking of project reporting and metrics, value savings initiatives, monitoring, reporting, and communication of performance
Set department priorities and deadlines to meet customer and internal timelines for deliverables, balance staff workloads, and delegate responsibilities
Recruit, supervise, coach, develop, motivate, and evaluate staff
Prepare thoroughly and actively participate in leadership meetings with a forward-thinking mindset
Potential for limited international travel
