Controller Job Opening in Dallas, Texas - Founded in 1986, The Westwood School is a nonsectarian, co-educational, Montessori Baccalaureate institution. Our mission is to develop character, foster community, and promote academic excellence in a welcoming, supportive private school environment.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Controller with strong accounting, administrative, and human resource skills. This position performs varied, complex and confidential administrative, human resources, and financial work in support of the Head of School.
Accounting and Human Resources Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree finance related
Strong computer skills and experience with various software programs including Quick Books and a strong working knowledge of Excel.
Experience in creating budget and cash flow projections a must. Financial planning experience a plus.
Ability to process and appropriately maintain sensitive, confidential information about employees and students
Ability to exercise discretion, work independently and carry out complex assignments with general instructions
Knowledge of current federal, state and local legislation and laws pertaining to personnel matters and payroll
Example of duties: managing employee benefits programs; processing payroll; managing the new hire process; insuring compliance with all state and federal laws; supervising Accounting Manager; preparing annual budgets and quarterly cash flow projections and financial statement executive summaries for board meetings.
