Senior Staff Accountant Job Opening in Lake Forest, Illinois - DUTIES
Prepare monthly financial statements and complete supporting analysis and reports
Facilitate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures
Prepare journal entries and support for non-recurring or technically complex accounting transactions
Prepare account reconciliations and complete analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions
Have a very active role in supporting the external auditors' and CPA firms quarterly reviews and year end audits
Actively participate in the continuous development and strengthening of internal controls
Draft technical accounting memos
Participate in and lead special projects
Assist with establishing, implementing and documenting policies and procedures
Utilize computer applications to compile, retrieve and summarize accounting information for analyses and reporting purposes
Prepare routine tax filings, including sales tax and use tax reporting
Prepare monthly commission reports and payment filings

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required -Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
-Strong technical accounting skills -Attention to detail with ability to complete tasks with high level of accuracy -Skilled at completing and recording financial transactions. Able to aid in developing information for financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations -Proficient in using accounting software and experience with an ERP system preferred (NetSuite / Oracle experience highly preferred) -Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
