Destiny?s Daughters of Promise is a Georgia-based, 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to provide a safe environment where teen girls can come and learn strategies to become confident leaders and contributing members of society. We offer services that promote leadership development, strong interpersonal skills, financial literacy, healthy relationships, community involvement and basic life skills. Program activities are designed to prepare teen girls for transition into healthy and independent adults. We aim to prepare teens for college, careers and to serve in the community.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to be responsible for managing the organization?s finances and assist with keeping track of funds during fundraising events. We are looking for an energetic, reliable and organized individual to be available from 9:00 am ? 5:00 pm during the weekdays and for special events. The individual will work directly with Controller and CEO.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:
· Promote the values and mission of Destiny?s Daughters of Promise in all interactions with students, parents, volunteers, staff and donors.
· Manage Accounts Receivable including creating invoices, following up with parents and donors on payments, preparing and recording deposits, tracking all donations, and restricted grants, preparing end of year donation statements, and updating records in QuickBooks.
· Manage Accounts Payable including preparing checks for bills, managing vendor relationships and contracts, and maintaining vendor records and files.
· Attend fundraiser events and parents? open house events to assist with collecting donations and tuitions.
· Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and general ledger.
· Handle insurance renewals, insurance audits and record keeping.
· Prepare monthly financial statements for the Treasurer and Board of Directors.
· Maintain communication with parents, DDP staff, and donors regarding all aspects of billing and payments.
· Maintain accurate financial record-keeping (i.e., student registration forms, bills, grant policies, fixed assets tracking, tax returns, and invoices).
· Assist Controller and CEO with year-end accounting, Form 990 prep for CPA and annual audit preparation.
· Assist with budget preparations for grant submission and grant reporting
· Assist with the preparation of annual operating budget.
· Attend scheduled meetings and special events.
· Assist with clerical needs, as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of recent bookkeeping experience and some collections experience
· Must have QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online and basic payroll experience
· Nonprofit experience a plus
· Have an Associate degree or Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or related field
· Ability to work in a team environment and independently under strict deadlines
· Strong mathematical and interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow.
· Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
· Tech-savvy and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive), PayPal, Google Chrome/Firefox, QBox, and Formstack
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
