Located in beautiful Homer, Alaska , overlooking Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains. We are a 22-bed critical access hospital with an attached 28-bed long-term care facility. We provide state-of-the-art technology and equipment and are proud to have a staff of over 400.
South Peninsula Hospital is looking for a compassionate and quick thinking ER Nurse to join our emergency team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling initial patient assessments, performing laboratory work, point-of-care testing, and associated administrative tasks. The ER nurse will also collaborate with ER doctors on discharge plans and create outpatient instructions for each patient that is not admitted to the hospital. What your day will look like:
The RN is accountable for the delivery of quality care to patients and families, according to the individualized needs of the patient and following the nursing process
The RN is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and care for patients of all ages including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric, as applicable.
The RN coordinates patient care activities with other members of the healthcare team in a collegial relationship and directs and coordinates care given by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN?s), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA?s), Nurse Graduate preceptees and Nursing students
What you will need to be successful:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Alaska .
A minimum of 1 yr ED/ER experience, 3 preferred.
1 year in Med-Surg is desired.
BLS, ACLS Certifications required
TNCC, ENPC and PALS preferred and must be completed within first year
