Bookkeeper/Office Manager Job Opening in Old Saybrook, Connecticut - Seeking a well rounded and highly motivated bookkeeper:
Accounts receivable invoicing daily & keeping track of aging / customer balances. Collect job slips daily from service technicians & invoice accordingly.
To do the job effectively, you must have detail-oriented skills that allow you to keep up with company expenditures, income, payroll and tax requirements, etc. You must ask questions and get the answers you need to keep all clients current. Familiarity with accounting software -- we use Quickbooks -- is required.
Other responsibilities could include, for example; deposit funds from clients, make payments to vendors who provide supplies / services to keep the office running, issue payroll checks, balance bank accounts. Financial transactions must be entered in the Quickbooks on a daily basis so account balances accurately reflect income and outgo.
Hours can be flexible as the person who fills this position will be working independently in our office most often-- the goal would be to transition this to a year round position, but being seasonal a winter layoff is possible. The summer is fast paced and hectic, a lot of opportunity for over time. Winter is largely collections / end of year tax prep. Season is typically April - November as far as the outside service is concerned. Compensation based upon experience & knowledge of job requirements.
