Senior Accountant Job Opening in Pasadena, California - Post secondary music college, with locations in both Hollywood and Pasadena, CA, is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join the team! The Senior Accountant will spend 2 days a week at the Hollywood location and 3 days a week at the Pasadena location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in various aspects of month-end close
Calculate and input adjusting journal entries
Balance and update supporting balance sheet schedules
Analyze and explain budget variances for department managers
Prepare and explain multi-system performance metrics for the executive team
Assist in year-end audit work
QUALIFICATIONS
Level of Education
Bachelor?s degree with a focus on Accounting.
Level of Experience
Full GL accounting experience required
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid Excel skills required (pivots, v-lookups, tables, basic macros,etc. )
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Experienced in balancing various balance sheet schedules
Ability to work within complex systems
Formulate and prepare journal entries in an efficient manner
Effectively discuss accounting impact of business decisions
Efficiently prepare and present findings using formal reporting structures
Develop and implement controls and policies in a changing environment
Highly detail oriented and organized
General ability to learn fast and communicate effectively
Business Level Japanese is a plus, but not required
