Director of Sales and Marketing Job Opening in Murphys, California - Summary
Responsible for planning and implementing sales and revenue-generating programs/strategies; helps in formulating marketing policies; helps plan, organize and manage advertising for the winery. Works directly with executive management and line managers to provide creative support in all marketing efforts. Helps create annually a comprehensive marketing plan for each revenue center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Helps manage all forms of advertising and for the winery.
Writes and distributes press releases for winery events.
Helps develop and update calendar of events for delivery to public through various media.
Organizes and participates in trade shows and festivals related to winery products and services.
Designs, develops and produces marketing related collateral for the general public, organizations, groups and corporations that would have an interest in winery events or facility usage.
Must work well under pressure; meet multiple & sometimes competing deadlines.
Must at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues & supervisors.
Experience in graphic design and website editing desirable.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be able to apply sales marketing techniques to winery activities, analyze and use market research data and write effectively. Should possess verbal presentation, telephone sales, and social media advertising skills. Must be able to motivate others, work as part of a team, meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure, maintain good customer and business relationships, and manage multiple priorities under unexpected circumstances. Candidate should have a willingness to travel and work nights, weekends and holidays. Proficiency in desktop publishing software, database software, and Microsoft Office Products a must.
Education and/or Experience Requires three years plus applicable marketing experience in a wine, food service, catering or hospitality industry.
