Overnight Valet- Fairfax Hospital Job Opening in Falls Church, Virginia - Full Time: Sunday- Thursday 10PM-6:30AM
Job Summary:
Under the supervision and direction of the MHS Manager or Team Lead, the Hospital Valet Parking Attendant provides exceptional services to patients and visitors in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. In this key role, you will be responsible for parking and retrieving patient and visitor vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner and assisting patients and visitors upon arrival and departure from the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all patients, visitors, co-workers and clients.
Acknowledges, greets, and welcomes patients and visitors to the location, using appropriate protocols.
Responsibly and safely parks and retrieves guests? vehicles.
Before taking any vehicle, assesses and documents any vehicle damage.
Records the location of the parking space as well as the number on the valet ticket.
Runs at top speed to park retrieve vehicles and drives slowly and cautiously.
Assists patients and visitors with directions and other inquiries as needed.
Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to patients and visitors upon arrival.
Qualification and Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Must be able to work legally in the United States.
Must pass background and drug screenings.
Must be able to drive a stick shift (manual) and automatic shift.
Must be able to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and other employees.
Must be able to perform basic math in relation to American money, understand rates applicable to time passed, and understand 24-hour and military time systems.
Must have a complete knowledge of and obey all traffic regulations.
Able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Ability to work well under time constraints.
Ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, run, walk, lift, and sit for a long period of time.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to push and pull 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to push and pull (on wheelchair) 100 to 350 pounds, frequently over considerable distance.
Requires full range of motion.
Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours is sometimes required.
May be required to meet immunization or health screening requirements through providing personal records or undergoing testing and, if required, further immunizations or tests.
