The first-year salary range for this position is $40,000 to $45,000 per year based upon education and professional experience. Sales commission and bonus opportunities are available as well.
POSITION: Entry-Level VoIP Deployment and Support Technician
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Function as subject matter expert on VoIP and associated technologies, products and services
* Gather unified communications requirements from clients
* Translate client requirements to value-add VoIP solutions
* Test client networks and Internet Service Provider (ISP) networks for compatibility with hosted VoIP service, PBX servers and remote SIP devices
* Provision, configure, trouble-shoot and support PBX servers, local networks and remote SIP devices
* Resolve escalated Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support issues associated with PBX servers, Internet Service Provider (ISP) networks, client networks and remote SIP devices
* Document all internal and external communications and status update information into the service management system ( Service Cloud)
* Escalate customer requests approaching or exceeding service level agreement thresholds
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
* Basic understanding of enterprise VoIP or Unified Communications concepts
* Knowledge of networking concepts: SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, NAT, DHCP, VPN, WAN, VLAN, QoS
* Ability to provision, configure, troubleshoot and support PBX servers and remote SIP devices
* Knowledge of Internet Service Provider (ISP) networks
* Knowledge of firewalls, routers, and switches
* Knowledge of VoIP, PBX server software, SIP trunks , PRI and PSTN
* Understanding of physical networking concepts
* Ability to troubleshoot local network, hardware and software issues
* Knowledge of security best practices
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
* Self-starter with proven computer and networking expertise
* Ability to work independently or with a team and efficiently manage time
* Excellent customer service skills to include written and verbal communication
* Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Positive attitude
* Ability to develop relationships with customers and promote products and services to clients
* Ability to assess technology needs and requirements
