Patient Services Representative Job Opening in Greensboro, North carolina - Full Time - 40 hour/week position
Description
The Patient Services Representative is responsible for the orderly flow of patients and visitors through the lobby in preparation for their radiology exams. This position requires understanding of radiology exam orders and coordination or verification of insurance coverage. The Patient Services Representative is responsible for effective, diplomatic and empathetic communications to patients, their families and referring physician offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate patient experience through coordination of insurance, exam order verification, financial payment plan, payment collection and medical record distribution. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters.
Verify patient procedures and authorizations via date, physician orders and insurance codes. Communicate with patient necessary authorization information.
Coordinate billing, finance and insurance activities by interpreting insurance coverages, coordinating claims, payments and daily payment reconciliation.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 3 years medical office experience
Knowledge: Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Skills: Intermediate computer skills such as Email, Microsoft Word. Ability to comprehend Electronic Medical Record Systems and payment collections systems. Use of standard medical office equipment.
Physical requirements: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling
Conditions of employment: Annual flu shot, annual TB test, CPR Certification, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
