Construction Accountant Job Opening in Palmetto, Georgia - BCC Builders (an eco-friendly residential home builder) is looking to expand our team of dedicated individuals as the company grows and projects are being continually added to the schedule. Our residential building projects are in Palmetto, Georgia.
We are looking for a knowledgeable individual experienced in job cost accounting practices for our day-to-day operations. Our ideal candidate must be comfortable with the following:
Account Payables
Entering invoices into Quickbooks
Categorizing invoice line items with cost codes related to clients? jobs; create reports to show any surplus and/or overage in the various categories
Scanning invoices to be attached within Quickbooks; Printing invoices for review or for filing
Maintaining and storage of paper + digital invoices in job-related folders
Preparing checks for all account payables on a weekly basis for vendors and sub-contractors
Account Receivables
Create client invoices + receipts (draws, allowance overages, change orders, interest payments)
Record all invoice payments received in Quickbooks
Verify and record any bank deposits or transfers
Other Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Reconciling bank statements and credit card statements on a monthly basis
Utilizing Buildertrend for uploading budget and allowances; preparing reports and/or invoices for selection allowances and job cost summaries
Tracking customer allowances for all jobs (including any ordering of allowance items) and creating change orders for any overages, when necessary
Printing reports on demand using both Buildertrend and Quickbooks
Closing out jobs by moving income and expenses from the balance sheet to P&L statement
Maintaining Certificates of Insurance and documentation for all independent and/or sub-contractors
Preparing for annual insurance audit and meeting with insurance auditor
Our ideal candidate will have:
3-5 years? experience using Quickbooks (preferably, online version)
3-5 years? experience with job cost accounting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher
Knowledge of construction and construction materials
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a team focus
Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
Ability to speak/understand Spanish (is a plus, but not required)
