Investor Research Analyst Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Life Science Nation is the premier source for information on global early stage life science investment. We work with companies in the biotech, medical technology, diagnostics, healthcare IT and life science R&D sectors that are seeking financing for research and product development. We provide these clients with a wealth of detailed, up-to-date information on every possible source of capital for their companies. LSN also organizes a quarterly life science partnering event, the RESI Conference, where life science companies gather for one on one investor meetings and a full day of panels and workshops on early stage life science investment.
LSN's Investor Research Analysts are responsible for initiating and building LSN?s relationships with a wide variety of life science investors across the world. Analysts discover potential sources of capital for companies in a variety of technology areas and stages of development by identifying life science investors and strategic healthcare investors, performing online research on these firms, and engaging with them in dialogue and interviews in order to build a detailed profile of each investor.
This entry level role is suitable for a candidate with an academic background in life sciences or healthcare who is interested in gaining experience in business and finance in the life science sector.
These investors include angel groups, venture capital firms, corporate venture capital, endowments, foundations, family offices, hedge funds, private equity firms, and global pharma and medical device companies. Analysts build relationships with investors throughout the USA and the rest of the world, including Europe, China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Analysts create detailed profiles of investors. These profiles are accessed by clients raising financing rounds, and are also used to develop financing campaigns for the clients of LSN?s affiliated broker dealer, Boston Innovation Capital. Analysts will have further opportunities to cultivate relationships with their investor contacts via the RESI conference and other events, and via assisting LSN clients with their outbound financing campaigns.
In addition to performing investor research, Investor Research Analysts with a relevant scientific or healthcare related academic background will assist in scientific due diligence and validation on potential LSN clients and also applicants to the RESI Innovation Challenge.
Requirements:
Strong written and spoken English, editorial skills and attention to detail
Interest in learning about the early stage life science investment ecosystem
Interest in working with startup companies
Academic background or work experience in life sciences or healthcare preferred
Must be available for an in-person interview in Boston
