Healthcare Business Analyst Job Opening in Charlestown, Massachusetts - VLink is looking for a Healthcare Business Analyst in Charlestown, MA. Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance of new or existing information systems. This includes user and vendor liaisons at the policy level.
Develop business plans to evaluate cost/benefit and feasibility studies with recommendation of best alternatives.
Responsible for all aspects of the project development cycle from project definition through system implementation. Develop and control project plan and coordinate resources to accomplish project objectives.
Responsible for the assurance of quality control and risk management procedures during the life cycle application development process.
Document and analyze the existing system workflow, including process steps, dependencies, user roles, security features, and manual processes.
Develop business and user requirements for an optimized workflow, and translate those into user stories, functional specifications, system and reporting requirements, and business process flows.
Define the scope of activities required to address issues, including requirements definition, process review, impact assessment and operational streamlining.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent
7 years of related experience, including some project management experience.
Working knowledge of claims processing systems and code sets (HCPCS, CPT-4 and ICD-9 / ICD10) and relevant MassHealth regulations.
Medicaid claims billing or payer experience.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite ().
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other project management tools.
Experience with SQL report writing and development of complex queries .
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in process mapping and related skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in tight timeframes with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Masshealth program, Coordination of Benefits, Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial insurance regulations and billing guidelines.
Knowledge of HIPAA transactions, EDI transactions, and XML.
Demonstrated experience/skills with Data Warehouse concepts and Cognos.
Some knowledge of CMS regulations.
Strong leadership and team player skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Highly motivated individual with proven experience in producing high quality results in a dynamic operations setting.
