POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for meeting the health needs of the residents and promoting wellness under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
Assisted residents with direct care and activities of daily living.
Promote an environment that results in resident satisfaction by exhibiting a positive attitude and timely response to resident needs and requests. Exhibit creativity in approach and implementation.
Provide medical input for residents, families, and staff when the need for an alternative care setting may become necessary.
Collaborate with the pharmacy to ensure accurate medication delivery and up-to-date resident medication regimen. Monitor the program and educate staff as needed.
Response to emergency calls for assistance by residents.
Oversee LNA?s by providing safe and effective nursing interventions.
Assess residents? functional status assuring that care plans are complete and residents? needs are met.
Document residents? needs and meet all federal and state regulations.
Assume on-call responsibilities when registered nurse is unavailable.
Ensure that all OSHA and safety standards are followed, as applicable.
Maintain safe and clean work areas and adhere to safety standards for the healthcare professional.
Comply with all infection control, standard precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Adhere to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of resident and client location information.
Perform all other takes or duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.
Must have working knowledge of those principles necessary to provide competent nursing care and have understanding of the normal dosages, actions, and common side effects of most medications in common use.
Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Must work well with others, have effective training and supervisory skills, and be able to identify and address problems effectively.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a current New Hampshire Nursing License (Graduate of an approved LPN program) with a minimum or one to two year?s experience working with older adults.
Must have demonstrated excellence in understand and utilizing nursing assessment skills.
