Reviews and audits pre funding and post funding loan files for accuracy of underwriting decisions, file completeness, and risk assessment. Handles escalated requests and inquiries, and provides assistance and direction to the Quality Control Auditor 1, as needed.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
60%- Performs pre closing and post?closing audits. Reviews and provides appropriate responses and documentation on investor audits, investor repurchase requests, and individual Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans' Administration (VA) audits. Researches and accounts for any defects or deficiencies in loan files. Resolves any defects or deficiencies in loan files in response to government or investor audit requests. Provides direction and support to QC Auditor 1.
20%- Reviews and tracks loans identified as high risk, and reports on them to the Compliance Committee.
10%- Maintains reports, tracking sheets, and logs, including those that document early payment defaults, provide information for analytics reporting of closers and processors, or measure branch performance.5% -Assists other departments and branches as needed with state, federal government, or investor audit requests.5%- Performs other duties as assigned.

3. Performs audits within identified deadlines, with or without direct supervision.
4. Provides support to corporate departments or branch personnel by answering questions and completing research, as needed.

6. Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with managers,other employees, and business partners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience
5+ years' of similar or related experience; previous underwriting experience is preferred
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent
Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of the involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information,building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Physical Requirements
Requires effective communication with customers and/or other employees using common telecommunications equipment and computer equipment. Must be able to read, examine, and organize documents. May require the ability to sit, stand, and walk around for extended periods of time. May also require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Position will often be in a busy office environment. The ability to multitask and focus in this environment is essential.
