Warehouse Assistant Manager Job Opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for assisting Warehouse manager in all daily functions of the shipping and receiving department. This Position will also play a major role in providing a conduit of communication between facilities and teams. An ideal candidate will have prior experience using a warehouse management system and RF handheld scanners.
Shipping and Receiving Dept. Duties:
Monitoring and printing orders for shipment
Scheduling and prioritizing of shipments
Securing freight quotes and scheduling freight carriers
Schedule incoming freight for delivery, and be prepared to receive before they arrive
Maintains records of shipping/receiving activities, assists in the development of record keeping procedures, and prepares associated reports for management.
Ensure excellent communication flow between Shipping/Receiving department and Customer Service, Supply chain Personnel, and Management
Assist the Manager in auditing orders for accuracy prior to the orders leaving the dock
Monitor warehouse conditions and report needs to the manager
Tracking and reporting metrics on order fulfillment accuracy
Researching and resolving fulfillment errors in order to improve processes and minimize errors
Collect and review labor data to revise metrics
Inventory Duties
Select, print count sheets, and assign cycle counts each day. Process when complete.
Perform the physical cycle counts as needed
Review count adjustments and conduct verification counts when necessary
Coordinate replenishment of stock to picking locations
Schedule transfers to inter-company sites on a timely basis
Review volumes to ensure the most efficient flow for order fulfillment processes
Ensure the warehouse is organized properly to maximize labor and square footage utilization
Additional Duties
Recommends and implements operating procedures
Printing or Preparation of labels for production as needed
Ensure policy compliance
Other duties as assigned
Learn the position of the Shipping/Warehouse Manager, and be prepared to assume those duties in that person's absence
