Plant Finance Manager Job Opening in Lake Charles, Louisiana - We are seeking a qualified Finance Manager (Plant) for our client located in Lake Charles, LA. Our client is a leader in the specialty coatings industry.
Salary range : $80K - $110K plus annual bonus

JOB FUNCTION:
The incumbent manages and coordinates financial and accounting matters related to the Lake Charles operation. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Supervision of the monthly financial closing process/cycle in the SAP ERP environment, including submission of the trial balance.
Preparation of accurate financial reporting, deviation analyses, and year estimates and review with local and SBU management.
Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and operation of the Cost System and any related systems to ensure the accurate and timely completion of cost accounting reports and activities.
Preparation of analyses to support local and SBU objectives related to opportunities for manufacturing cost reduction, working capital improvement, and other opportunities to improve product/plant profitability.
Preparation and review of capital spending projects (ACTs) including the financial justification for each project.
Preparation of the annual manufacturing plan, including analysis of changes in costs, and the associated Capital spending plan
Supervision and administration of all long term services agreements to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of the agreements, including proper invoicing as per the agreements.
Supervision of plant inventories, including coordination and reconcile of periodic plant physical inventories and review of inventories for rationalization.
Completion of periodic product re-costing to accurately update standard costs for raw materials,operating supplies, and finished goods. Calculate and report LIFO inventory value changes.
Coordination of plant-wide focus on importance of a sound business control environment to ensure that all financial activities comply with the ICSP (Internal Control Standards & Practices).
Supervision of growth and development of plant finance team to ensure contribution to local and SBU objectives.
Development of effective working relationships with all customers, including the production management, technical, and sales functions.
The incumbent must be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all government regulations and policies and maintain a strong internal business control environment in support of a safe and cost-effective manufacturing operation.
The plant operates with a lean staff. Therefore, documentation of processes and procedures is critical to maintaining and managing an effective accounting function
.
Requirements:
BS/BA in accounting and/or finance. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of general or cost accounting experience plus prior supervisory experience in a financial position.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be detail oriented.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels, including presentation of financial data. Prior manufacturing plant experience is a plus.
Strong leadership skills and ability to analyze and interpret financial data and determine appropriate course of action if needed.
Must keep current regarding accounting practices and principles.
