Property Accountant Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Synergy Investments, a leading Boston commercial real estate firm with a portfolio of over 4 million square feet across 30 properties, seeks a Property Accountant. The positon is responsible for performing accounting, financial analysis and the reporting function for real estate partnerships and other related entities. This person works directly with the Senior Director of Finance, on special projects with the Controller, and side-by-side Asset Managers on monthly reports, budgeting, and key performance indicators and provides a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in a very entrepreneurial environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the accounting function, financial analysis and reporting for a portfolio of properties
Maintaining tenant ledgers
Preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual investor financial statements
Preparation and review of monthly detailed supporting schedules
Manage the annual budgeting process and preparation of monthly reports for review by senior management
Maintain confidentiality of information related to HR, operating companies and other functions as necessary
Prepare annual CAM and Real Estate Tax reconciliation charges to tenants
Assist with coordination of information to external auditors
Perform other assigned duties and complete ad hoc projects, as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Accounting (4 Year)
2 years real estate accounting experience
Prior Yardi & MRI experience required
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peers and vendors, as well as clients and other related parties
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines
Quick study with the willingness to learn new systems and the eagerness to grow with the company
High degree of personal integrity and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
A strong positive attitude, demonstrating the professionalism and flexibility needed to attain Company goals
Working knowledge of GAAP
