Project Accountant Job Opening in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts - The project accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
Create project accounts in the accounting system
Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
Authorize access to project accounts
Authorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accounts
Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
Confer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings
Report on project profitability to management
Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings
Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
Create all project-related billings to customers
Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
Respond to requests for more detail from customers
Write off of any project-related billings that cannot be billed to or collected from customers
Close out project accounts upon project completion
Process subcontractor bills, payments and lien waivers
Reconcile subcontractor payments/retainage and close-outs
Assess risks on the project and make recommendations.
Produce cost reports and Indicated Outcome Reports required for the project and prepare an independent, interpretive analysis with respect to:
The budget report, including general conditions, general requirements, staff, labor, insurance and taxes required to manage the indicated costs of projects. * Holds, contingencies, allowances, and unbought for integrity and adequacy.
Non-Reimbursable, and B account studies and forecasts.
Accurately reforecast projections for these studies as project conditions change.
Work with project team to report and accurately forecast indicated outcomes of projects.
Prepare for and participate in Operations Review Meetings with Senior Business Unit Management.
Train and develop new Project Accountants and Cost Engineers and project staff.
Visit jobsite(s) to evaluate project progress and conditions and review with project management. Review current field conditions in trades and evaluate costs, SISs, exposures, claims and recoveries.
Utilize specialized tools to create, analyze and evaluate project schedules.
