Sales Representative Job Opening in Anchorage, Alaska - Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The Seattle Division has an opening for a Wholesale Sales Associate. This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska.
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to maintain existing Independent accounts and develop new accounts. Accounts include customers through out rural Alaska. Representative is responsible for increasing sales and profitability in assigned territory to enhance departments overall net profits.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Conduct phone sales calls
Field incoming customer calls
Manage receivables under recommended guidelines
Selling all current, seasonal and special sales programs
Travel throughout Alaska assisting customers in training and merchandising
Examine assigned daily reports
Develop sales strategy and plans
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Education Level: College degree desirable, minimum of High School education required3 to 5 years Grocery retail experience in Merchandising and Planning is required
Experience Level: 3 to 5 years Grocery retail experience in Merchandising and Planning is required. Experience in wholesale operations, freight and logistic is a plus.
Skills and Background: Excellent customer service and follow through skillsProven communication skills both written and verbal skills High degree of initiative, with strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritizeNatural sales abilityProficiency using MS Office (Excel, Word and Access)Ability to excel in rural locations with limited resourcesAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
KEY CONTACTS:
Internal Contacts: Associate will work as a tem member with other sales associates
External Contacts: Most contact will be made with our existing customer base and initiating contact with potential new customers. Some contact will be to our freight forwarder. May occasionally need to contact suppliers and vendors.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 60%
Travel is required with overnight stays. Most travel begins on a Monday with a return on a Friday. Drivers license personal car and insurance is required. Travel
SALES/ANNUAL REVENUE: Associate will be responsible for maintaining sales of assigned territory. Current responsible annual sales will range $5 to $8 Million
ADDITIONAL REMARKS: A high degree of customer service and initiative with strong follow through skills are an absolute must for this position. Many hours per week will be spent on the phone with customers selling and also helping solve ant situation that customers may have.
