Accounting Assistant Job Opening in Piscataway, New jersey - The Role
Binsky, a large scale mechanical contracting and service provider located in Central NJ is seeking an Accounting Assistant. This full-time position will provide financial and clerical services for the Accounting Department with a heavy emphasis on collections. Duties include monitoring incoming payments and securing revenue through daily collection efforts and providing administrative assistance for both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities:
o Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
o Prepare weekly aging status reports for job review meetings for project managers
o Research and resolve payment discrepancies for Accounts Payable
o Communicate with customers via phone, email or mail in a professional manner
o Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
o Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities as requested by the CFO
o Maintain tax binders for audit and distribute tax certificates as requested by suppliers and subcontractors
o Assist in Accounts Payable invoice entry and batch review
o Job setup for the Accounting Department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Excellent communication, organizational and follow-up skills
Possess the ability to multi-task, while ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and support department and co-worker needs
Strong customer service orientation and negotiation skills
Solid data entry and spreadsheet skills
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelors? Degree in Accounting
2+ years? experience in collections
Must possess strong computer skills including keyboarding, data entry and experience with Microsoft Office products
