Knowledge Management Intern Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - The Knowledge Management Intern works as part of the Knowledge Management team to create and maintain documentation that efficiently and effectively transfers knowledge to relevant audiences. The Technical Writing Intern applies technical writing best practices to design, test, and refine documentation that supports our products and internal processes. As part of the Knowledge Management team, this position plays an important role in improving the internal and external customer experience by providing clear, easy-to-understand materials to help users set up and use our products and services.
Position description:
Learn current processes and workflows and identify ways to create efficiencies
Deliver high quality documentation in a variety of media; documentation includes:
Process documents
Company policies and compliance documents
Online help articles
Conform to departmental style guidelines, and ensure documentation meets the needs of the business and the audience
Adhere to departmental processes for the development, management, and control of documentation
Work with other departments to acquire and disseminate information in a timely manner
Adapt to changing business needs and changing industry practices to ensure that Cayan?s documentation always meets the needs of the business and the audience
Research, analyze, organize, design, and develop the presentation of technical information
Edit documentation and other information products for non-documentation colleagues
Pursue job/career-related learning outside of the scope of assigned tasks, for example, classes, reading
All other duties as assigned
The Person:
Have excellent planning, presentation, time and project management skills
Knowledge in training and/or instructional methods
Self-motivated and results-orientated with the ability to work to deadlines and flexible hours as needed.
Strong communication skills
Willingness to work as part of a team
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Working towards a degree in Technical Writing or related field, or equivalent industry experience
Demonstrate a good understanding of the documentation lifecycle
Demonstrate a structured approach to documentation planning and design
Able to work on several projects at once and take ownership of task schedules
High level of writing proficiency
Ability to analyze and organize complex material
Demonstrate skill at encouraging others to provide feedback on projects
Adapt easily to new technologies, methodologies, and writing techniques
Strong ability to successfully manage concurrent deliverables on time and with quality within fast-paced environment and under deadlines
High level of competence with MS Office
Excellent oral and written communication skills
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Experience in a software development or payment industry environment
Experience writing for an international audience
A good understanding of ?Plain English? writing techniques
