Software Engineer - JavaScript Front End Job Opening in Los Gatos, California - HammerCards is looking for a front-end JavaScript developer to join our team in Los Gatos. We are a new startup with the goal of creating the world's best flashcard app for language learning.
We are developing many exciting features including dynamic card-spacing algorithms to maximize learning efficiency, proficiency tests to rank learners, crowdsourced and auto-generated card decks, and gamification techniques to make learning fun.
You will be working with another experienced programmer to implement a single-page JavaScript application targeting both desktop and mobile browsers. The application will be a flashcard system, with card editing functionality, cloud progress saving, and online interaction with other users. An exceptional UX will be required, to make practice with our flashcards fun and effective.
Your primary responsibility will be implementation of the front-end JavaScript application. You will also be expected to interface with the back-end service, and possibly implement parts of it as well.
We are highly ambitious and will work relentlessly to revolutionize education with our flashcard application. We are looking for someone who is similarly excited and ready to do what it takes to build this application with us.
Requirements:
High level of skill with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming
Good to have:
B.S. in Computer Science
Experience with UI/UX Design
Experience with full stack development
Experience with security and high load for web applications
Experience with JavaScript mobile apps, using PhoneGap or similar tech
Passion for app design, readiness to contribute ideas
Interest in working on a small team and having a big impact
Desire to work on a project that can change the world
This is a full-time on-site job, at our office in Los Gatos.
