Staff Accountant (Chamilia) - TEMP Job Opening in Cranston, Rhode island - Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will work on an individual and team basis with the Accounting and Finance Departments and will be responsible for 1) the full cycle of Accounts payable including posting invoices, processing payments, reconciliation of vendor statements and resolution of vendor inquiries; 2) preparing general ledger entries in conformity with General Accepted Accounting principles; duties to include cash reconciliation, monthly general ledger account reconciliation, fixed asset tracking and reconciliation, variance analysis, month-end financial reporting, tax reporting and other duties as assigned.
Key Accountabilities:
Protects the Company?s financial assets by accurately reconciling domestic and foreign cash accounts monthly including all credit card and in-transit transactions
Manage and reconcile fixed assets/ monitor capital expenditure guidelines
Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely and accurate manner
Prepare general journal entries and provide supporting documentation
Provide management with weekly reports to help guide decisions in cash management
Review invoices and supporting documentation to ensure proper approvals, account coding and documentation of amounts
Accurately code and enter invoices and credit memos to the A/P system
Review and match purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices, working closely with vendors and purchasing to identify and resolve discrepancies
Review, track and reconcile monthly expense reports and prepare related entries to the General Ledger
Process cash disbursements by check and wire payments in multiple currencies
Assist in forecasting cash disbursements and managing cash accounts
Maintain organized and effective accounting files and records; prepare annual Form 1099 reporting
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following education, work experience, and abilities:
Education: Associate?s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of accounting experience.
Understanding of GAAP.
Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to work with multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong understanding of general accounting and financial analysis.
Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through
Technology Skills - Great Plains or other ERP experience preferred (GL, sales, purchasing and inventory modules specifically). Excellent Microsoft Office skills required including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Communication Skills - - Strong verbal, analytical, organizational and written communication.
