Senior Accountant Job Opening in Los Angeles, California - A fast-growing hospitality company with more than 300 employees is looking to hire an experience Senior Accountant to be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Irvine. This position is responsible for performing accounting functions for a hospitality group that operates restaurants, bars and nightclubs in Los Angeles and Orange County. Our Senior Accountant will be responsible to perform the full cycle month end closing duties for several locations. Experience in Hospitality is a major plus!
Job Description:
Period End Close
Process insurance/benefit allocations ? Preparation of sales tax returns, as well as any other applicable tax liabilities ? Review licenses fees
Process monthly accruals, prepaid and Update balance sheet & profit/loss details
Generate financial statements
Assist with cash management
General Accounting Duties
Post journal entries
Reconcile open accounts receivable and accounts payable
Reconcile bank statements
Review balance sheet schedules and post adjusting entries
Manage filing system for A/R, deposit, and journal entry posting
Assist venue managers with accounts payable questions and coding issues
Prepare monthly rent schedule Financial Analysis
Prepare weekly revenue reports
Analyze budgetary, financial, and statistical data and make recommendations on the basis of conclusions derived from such analyses
Analyze and verify monthly financial reports
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
Must have 3-5 years' experience. Food and Beverage experience preferred.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and cash basis accounting
Well-developed understanding of accounting systems and other software systems. Quick Books system experience not required, but is a plus.
Intermediate Excel, MS Word, and Outlook skills required.
