Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager Job Opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan - A west Michigan manufacturer is seeking a results-oriented, high energy, driven accounting professional to join it's fast-paced corporate accounting team. This individual will be accountable for the following:
- Daily intercompany cash journal entries and month end intercompany account reconciliation
- Monthly bank reconciliations
-Month end close process including journal entries and review and adjustments to system-generated financials
-Weekly management reporting for accounts receivable and payable for use in cash flow projections
-Oversight of checks and balances in accounts receivable and payable processes
-Oversight of accounts receivable collection efforts in conjunction with corporate controller
-Monthly general ledger account reconciliations
-Year end review preparation
-Sales tax return completion and governmental reports compliance
- Special projects as assigned by the Corporate Controller
This individual will possess a "can-do "positive attitude and be an excellent team player. The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree, 2-3 years of general corporate accounting experience or equivalent thereof, and have an excellent understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Public accounting experience is preferred. Intermediate excel skills are required and experience with QuickBooks, JOBBOSS or DBA software is also preferred. Excellent benefits and work environment.
